The district is singularly well served by railways , which have made the headquarters station the center of a number of radiating line and of a busy railway system . In the old district Gazetteer of Gaya , published on in 1906 and Bihar district Gazetteers Gaya , published on in1957 , it is mentioned . The patna Gaya Railway which runs in the north was 0pend in the year 1876 . It connects Gaya with the main line of the East Indian railway now Eastern railway at patna junction , 34 . 5 miles of it and 6 station excluding Gaya fall within the district . The station are Gaya junction , chakand , Bela , Makhdumpur ,rehata , jehanabad court , jehanabad , Nadawan , Taregana , Nadaul , punpun , parasabazar and patna junction .
