A Devkund is reported to be an important historic place of antiquity . It is situated on the border of Aurangabad and Arwal district and lies in the block Goh Aurangabad district. It has an ancient temple of Baba Duddheshwar nath and an old chyavan rishi tank . According to the 0ldest legend it was the ashram of the famous Bhrigu nandan rishi chyavan . There is a shrine of lord Baba Siddheshwar nath shiv linga . Where pilgrim come to 0ffer oblation to lord Duddheshwar nath during the shivaratri and full shravan month festivals . A cattle fair is held during the mahashivaratri festivals. Devkund is a historical place in the Goh block of Aurangabad district of Bihar state in India .The distance from the Patna is 80 k.m.. Devkund is the most favorite and the most famous placesfor Magahi and Hindi communities . Large numbers of people come here on the occasion of shravani , falgun tryayodashi and chhath puja every year from the entire Bihar and Magadh.Now devkund is becoming Deokund Dham because it is the famous place in Bihar for worshiping lord shiv lingam Baba Dudheshvar Nath and ancient Dugdheshvar Nath temple and God tank devkund , chyavan rishi talav .
A Ghenjan village and Government estate situated on the Morahar river in the South of the Jehanabad district about 5 miles west 9f the Makhadumpur railway station Makhadumpur block. The village Ghenjan contains a number of ancient Brahmanical and Buddhist statues the most interesting of which is a large seated Buddha wearing a necklace and three pointed diadem . There is also a large statue of Avalokiteshvar with an inscription on the pedestal stating that it was the gift of the Sthavir Ratna sinha who came from Nalanda and dedicated it for the benefit of two disciples. The ruins of an ancient brick temple exist to the north east of the Ghenjan village and in the Ghanjan it self there is a modern temple containing a large standing figure of tara now worshipped as a Bhagavati Tara and carefully hidden by a yellow cloth .Many minor images are collected at this temple and at same distance in the open fields there are a large statue of lord Buddha and in image of lord vishnu . It is located 21 k.m. to words south from Jehanabad and 11 k.m.from Ratani , 76 k.m patna. Gunjan local language is Magahi ,Hindi . The government estates as they were known before the abolition of the zamindari by the passing of the Land Reforms Act and the taking over of the zamindari by the Government comprised 118 vilages extending over an area of 102 square miles. A Deo in Aurangabad district state Bihar situated 6 miles south east of Aurangabad ( Bihar ) .Deo has a temple dedicated to the Lord sun called surya mandir . According to surya puran the original Temple was repaired by raja Patel in return for his recovery from leprosy by bathing in the Brahma kund tank. This temple was demolished by the Mohammadans in the wake of their conquest and is said to have been reconstruction by some Hindu Raja about whom no Definite history is know. The religious importance of worship of God Sun and taking bath in the Brahma kund is traced from the time Raja Patel .On both kartik and chatra shukl paksh panchmi to saptami people from the vicinity and the neigh boring districts come in Thailand two day be fore the chhath festival and stay there till the next day . The Sun temple is construction in a monolithic pattern . Each slab is joined together by iron pehra and artistically carved in to images and other workmanship . The construction of drones with lotus carving in the slab on the top of the Sun temple made a great headway from that of Puri temple .A pavilion in the front of the temple called Yama pandal , Yama pavilion has been constructed whose construction seems older than the construction of the temple . An image of lord Ganesh has been carved on the wall of the temple . There are three idols in side the temple placed side by side on a platform on whose fronts horse drawing a charit is also carved . There are some inscriptions inside the mandap . The same type of temple is also found at Unaka from where the Deo Raj family is said to have shifted to this place. Deo is the seat of the Deo Rajas one of the oldest families in Bihar state who trace back their descent to the Ranas of Udayapur . According to the family tradition Maharana rai Bhan singh a younger brother of the Rana of Udayapur encamped at Umaga on his way to the shrine of Jagannath in the 15 th century .There was a hill fort the chief of which died leaving an old and helpless widow who was unable to keep order over her mutinous subjects.on hearing of Bhan Singh's arrival she put herself under his protection adopting him as her son. He soon made himself master of the Image fort and quelled the incipient rebellion. After his death two of his descendants ruled there but the fort was subsequently deserted in favour of the present sent of the family.Raja Chhatrapati in the later period had helped the English In the contest between Warren Hastings and chait singh the Raja of Banaras the Deo Raja being too old to take the field in person his son. Fateh Narayan singh joined the forces under major Crawford and afterwards aided the English in the war with the pindris . For the former service the young Raja was given a bankar rent free tenure of eleven villages and his subsequent services were rewarded which the Raj of palamu jharakhand which was afterwards exchanged for certain villages in the district of Aurangabad yielding main come of rs . 3ooo per annum . The successor of fateh narayan singh was Ghanashyam singh who also took the field with the British force against the mutineers in Surguja . He ricceved in reward a second time the Raj palamu jharakhand state . His son Raja mitra bhan singh rendered good service in quelling the Kol insurrection in chhotagagapur jharkhand and was rewarded with the remission of rs. 1ooo frome the Government revenue accruing from the Deo estate. The service of the Raja 's grandfather Jaiprakash singh during the insurrection of 1857 . Who had sent his solders to chhotanagpuur where awarded by the title of Maharaja Bahadur a knighthood of the star of India and the grant of a Jagir rent free tenure. The last Deo Raja died on the 16 April 1934 leaving his widow to succeed him . The Deo estate extends over 92 square miles and was brought under survey and settlement between 1901 and 1903 . With the enactment of Bihar land reforms Act the zamindari of Deo Raj has passed to the state . Deo sun temple ( Sun Mandir ) is a Hindu (Saur Dharm ) Sun temple in Bihar state India. The temple is Sun shrine deducted to lord Sun for chhath puja . The temple is unique as it faces west the setting lord Sun not the usual rising Sun . This Sun temple is reported to be considered very auspicious to visit on the festival chhat , Adda nakshatra and Sunday . It is said that once lord vishvakarma was asked to build a Sun temple in one night by lord Sun and God Shilpakar Vishvakarma built the Deo Sun temple in one night. The sun temple is a mixture of Dravidian , Nagari and vesara Architecture . According to built Sun temple in 5 th century.
